Emily Momand, M.A., CCC-SLP
Emily Momand, M.A., CCC-SLP is school-based Speech-Language Pathologist with a certificate of Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology. She is passionate about working with students and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, providing appropriate, equitable, and targeted identification and treatment of communication impairments through a transdisciplinary, collaborative approach.
Momand currently works with children enrolled in preschool through fifth grade at Rosa Parks Elementary School, providing school-based assessment and intervention of a speech and language impairments. She is a member of San Diego Unified School District’s Fluency Disorders Support Network and has extensive training and experience with a broad range of population and communication disorders, including but not limited to:
- Phonological impairment
- Articulation disorder
- Apraxia of speech
- Specific Language impairment
- Stuttering
- Autism
- Down syndrome
- Selective mutism
- Social-pragmatic impairments
Emily received her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts degree from San Diego State University, where she contributed to the Bilingual Child Language Research Laboratory. Momand also played a role in the early development of the Child Language Development, Disorders, and Disparities Lab (ChiLD 3 ), providing focused Language Intervention within preschool classrooms using a language-focused curriculum model for children at a higher risk for having academic difficulty.
