Shamanism: Animism is the religion and shamanism is the practice. A person must be chosen to be a shaman. The shaman spirit will test a person first to see if they pass or fail. The testing of patience, purity, honesty and willingness to cure illness.

History of shamanism: Ntxwg Nyoog older son. Tswv Yis younger son. Family = wife and son. Villagers celebration with animal sacrifice. Disservice to the animal.

Everything has a spirit. Every region has its own regional spirit system. Spirit food offering. Spirits are house spirit, door spirit, shaman spirit, regional govern spirit.

Shaman deal: 3 days negotiation (chicken, essence, money). If family doesn't pay, the spirit will attack the shaman. Shaman communication: Split horn. Both sides up means there is a situation. One up one down means agreement. Both sides down means disagreement.
