It is open to everybody, and successful candidates for the scholarship can start attending the online class any time in May. Health professionals can receive continuing education credit for taking this class. They will have to pay a small fee to get continuing credit.
We are pleased to share the news that in the March 2025 Cycle, 21 scholarships were granted to SDSU students, staff and private individuals living in San Diego. See their names below.

- Gallegos, Juan – SDSU Undergraduate student in Health Communication
- Lau, Cecilia – Graduate of SDSU Undergraduate Public Health Program, working in San Francisco serving low-income non-English-speaking Chinese seniors
- Mai, Tung Dinh – Graduate of SDSU Undergraduate Public Health Program, now a physician working in a national health insurance company in Texas
- Caldwell, Samantha Ruiz – High-school psychology counselor at a Carmel Valley school
- Madero, Maribel – SDSU university administrator in the Imperial Valley Campus
- Alatriste, Esaul – Businessman in San Diego
- General, Pauline – Public Health Undergraduate student at SDSU
- Mora, Alejandra – Undergraduate Public Health student at SDSU

Persons interested in the (same) class starting in May 2025 cycle should apply before April 20th, 2025. Here is the Google form for anyone to fill out if they are interested in applying for the Scholarship on Plant-based Nutrition. The course is offered in English, and a separate track is also available in Spanish for applicants who prefer to learn exclusively in Spanish. A third track, to be offered in Mandarin, is going to be rolled out sometime later this year, for those applicants who prefer to learn exclusively in Mandarin. Without the scholarship, the tuition is about $945 in English and a little less in Spanish.
