Programs of Study

The ARPE Department is committed to increasing opportunities for adult learners to acquire graduate degrees in the fields of community college/postsecondary education leadership, rehabilitation counseling and administration. It also sponsors the Leadership Studies Major and Minor for undergraduate students.

Leadership Studies (Major and Minor)

The Leadership Studies program at San Diego State University (SDSU) offers both a major and a minor. Both the Leadership Studies major and minor are designed to develop self-aware, culturally competent, and transformational leaders, and offer students the opportunity to participate in experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and service learning projects. These experiences give students the chance to practice their leadership skills in real-world settings.

M.A. in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Affairs (PELSA)

The Master of Arts degree in educational leadership and student affairs is intended for students pursuing positions in colleges and universities.

M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling

The Rehabilitation Counseling Program (RCP) at San Diego State University prepares students to be effective practitioners, administrators, and leaders in the field of rehabilitation.

Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Community College/Postsecondary
